My studio

I
'm a bit new to this blog world, so I'm not quite sure how things work, but I just wanted to thank you for your kind comments :)
I thought I would share some pictures from my studio.
This is usually the state of my floor and desk, leading up to a deadline. Paper paper everywhere!
Yep, things get pretty messy.
Poor decapitated giraffe. One day he might make it into a picture with a brand new head...

Let's make a cake

Here are a couple of spreads from my latest commission, a novelty book titled "Let's make a cake" for Froebel (Korea). It was quite a tricky project which required repetition and precision (not my strongest points), with a really tight deadline to boot. I hardly left my flat for a week.
I'm enjoying stepping out into the sun these days :) yey freedom!

Lovely paper and things...

So many lovely things from Japan, I had to stop myself from bringing back the whole shop!
Beautiful washi papers, tenugui and furoshiki, postcards, a paper bag, and stationery by Colobockle - I like her work a lot.

Japan! (Part 5 - Tsuwano)

The annual "yabusame" horseback archery competition in Tsuwano was amazing, and a highlight of the trip.
The horse and archer roars past at such breathtaking speed and power, it was impossible to take any photographs. Has to be seen!!

Japan! (Part 2: Amanohashidate - Uradome Kaigan)

More holiday pics from Amanohashidate and Uradome Coastline.

Japan! (Part 3 - Tottori Sand Dunes)

Fun at the sand dunes!
Only in Japan do you see suited business men taking a casual stroll through the sand dunes!
The squid ink ice cream was not as bad as it sounds. It was just like a normal ice cream, only it looked a bit like cement.
