brush brush

Here are some personal pieces I've been working on, inspired by a certain little boy and his daily routine, his impatience, and his likes and dislikes.
After a long break from illustration being a full time mum, I'm now wanting my work to move forward in a slightly different direction, to try a little experimenting with materials, colours, facial expressions etc. This will take some time, and that is the one thing I don't have much of these days, but I feel the need to explore and be excited about making pictures again.

  1. Wow, Mique! This would make for an amazing book. As busy as you are, it is wonderful to see how much your beautiful baby is continually inspiring your work. These illustrations are so fantastic! Perhaps, you can add some as prints for your shop on Etsy. Xoxo.

    1. Thank you Mishea :) Oki gives me so many ideas each day, I can't keep up! I think these illustrations need a bit of tidying up here and there, but I will let you know if I ever turn them into prints xx

  2. Children and inspiration, they do go hand in hand. From a new illustrating mum I admire your dedication and determination when it comes to illustration and I aspire to follow in your foot steps too. I like the animal reflections, especially the crazy haired lion.

    1. Ahhh thank you Olu :) I call it extreme multi-tasking! I feel like if I don't get it down on paper now, I'll forget all these little thoughts that pop into my head daily when I'm with my little boy. Looking forward to seeing what you've been up to xx
