sewing

I did a 2 day embroidery class for beginners recently, at the lovely sewing shop Ray Stitch in Islington.
I learned a bit of sewing a looooog time ago when I was at primary school in Japan, and then at secondary school in London, and that's about the only teaching I've received. Most of the time I'm making it up as I go along.
I've been wanting to merge sewing with my illustrations work, so was very happy to find this class, run by the lovely Richard McVetis. I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped for in the class, but I'm excited to think of all the possibilities that lie ahead, drawing and making different kinds of marks with stitching and thread.
